I am a returning student that has been out of school for 12 years. I came back because it was a goal that I set for myself back when I was younger and I need to see it all the way through. I completed one year of studies then got married. I initially took off a semester to get used to the whole married idea, it was a good plan but during that time I landed a job with a bank. I got into there manager trainee program and was making good money. I got promoted and took over a branch in Coos Bay, Oregon. I continued to advance in my job til one day I realized I did not like what the finance world was doing to my views. I quit my job, moved back to Utah. Put my wife through pharmacy technician school and now it is my turn to finish my degree. I still am trying to figure out what my course of study is but luckily I have 2 more classes before I have to make that decision. I have seen a lot of the business world and although on the job training is important I have found its not as important as having a piece of paper that says you are a college graduate. I am a little nervous going back to school, just reading the syllabus for my classes has been overwhelming. Its amazing how much you forget in 12 years when you haven't been doing structured study for a long time.
I have no real feelings for this class other then I am not that jazzed about counting the number of words I have typed. So if anyone know a program or a website that counts the number of words used, I would greatly appreciate them sharing that piece of information with me. Well I think this puts me at 307. Later
You made it past 300 words! :) I myself, am having trouble coming up with 300 words for this blog.
ReplyDeleteI was actually amazed at how much I remembered from high school chemistry when I took Chem 1010 last semester. I thought I had forgotten almost everything I ever learned in high school.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about websites, but I do know that WordPerfect has a tool for counting words, and I think Microsoft Word does also, though I am not sure.
I don't want you counting words by hand. That's too tedious. If you paste what you write in another program, it will tell you how many words you have. You could even compose in a word program and then paste to the blog, whichever works best. :) - Bethany Zohner
ReplyDeleteBethany that was great advise. I never realized word perfect actually counts your words. Also it spell checks for me =)
