#19 Who do I Admire

This blog would have been a lot easier to write twenty years ago.  I have thought for an entire day trying to figure out who I admire.  I think the older I get it is harder for me to admire someone as a whole package.  Now there is a lot people that have individual traits that I admire quite highly but trying to think of one that I would give them the title of I admire them in full even with all their faults is rough.  Ultimately I came up with my son.  He is five and he is everything I would hope he could be.  He has unconditional for all of his family.  He is loyal and honest.  He has a great attitude towards life and has nothing bad to say about anything.  We recently got a puppy due to my daughter’s persistent nature.  Nobody in my family wanted the dog except my little girl.  If were going to get a dog it had to be small and of the nonshedding variety.  Well those kind of dogs are expensive.  My daughter had saved up $291 for Disneyland and decided she would use that money towards a new puppy.  Well puppies are running for $500.  With my daughter getting more and more discouraged my boy comes to me one night and says “Dad I will give you my money for Paige to get a dog.”  I asked him if he wanted a dog.  He said “I don’t care if we get a dog but I know Paige really wants one so I will help.”  For a five year old to have that much compassion for his sister nearly made me cry.  Needless to say we went and got a dog and yes I ended up paying for most of it, I just made them pay 100 bucks each. 1. thats neat that you admire your son. I admire my daughter as well , she is so sharing and loving to others even when they are so mean she will still let them know she loves them. Its amazing how tender hearted they are.

  2. Normally I try to root around and post on various class members blogs. But for whatever reason your writing resonates with me today. I very much enjoyed this story. I had not thought about using my own kids as people I admire. Damn now I feel like a bad dad LOL! Your story was touching. Thanks for sharing!
